DJ Believe Logo Design

Music producer and DJ, Brandon Andrews, spends his time writing music, producing and DJing local events in New Jersey. He requested a modern logo that would visually represent his brand.

Overall, the client was very pleased with his logo and overall branding. He believes it defines his brand well and is excited to use the new branding for upcoming projects.

Concept, Research

In the first meeting, the client and I explored various concepts for the logo. We started by creating a word association chart to determine the overall mood. I highlighted that the structure of the music note looked similar to the shape of the letters "DJ." The client liked this concept.

Sketches & Client Proposal

With a concrete plan in mind, I started sketching ideas in Procreate. Eventually, I presented the client with two variations of the concept.

I created a mood board based on the word association chart we created. The color pallet is a balance of pastels and bright colors that emulates the high energy of music festivals with calm soft energy of day dreaming. The client expressed interest in incorporating the idea of space and galaxies into the overall design as well

I created two color palettes based on the colors I had gathered from the mood board. The pink-purple color scheme fit the idea of wonder and creation, while the silver palette gave off a feel of modernism.

In the end, the client decided on the silver color pallete.

Reflection

The client was very pleased with his logo and overall branding. He believes it defines his overall brand well. He is excited to use his new branding for upcoming projects.

Working on this project made me see just how much impact color can have on a design. The color and black/ white logo told two very different stories and it was up to us to decide the story we wanted to tell.
